The Syndicate: What Investors Need to Know

As a syndicate, Inbound Angels is a special purpose vehicle (SPV) that sources deals for its members to evaluate and potentially invest in. There is no requirement to invest in any individual deal, or annual minimum investment — instead, each member has the opportunity to evaluate each deal and determine for themselves if they would like to invest. Most startups fail and members should never invest more than they are willing to lose.

How We Choose Companies to Invest In

Inbound Angels invests in SaaS, marketplace and emerging technology businesses ranging from seed to growth stage. In particular, we focus on founders who are former HubSpotters or have startups within the HubSpot ecosystem.

We believe it’s important for founders to come from diverse backgrounds, whether that’s in terms of culture, ethnicity, industry, or education. For a better sense of the kinds of companies that see success at Inbound Angels, take a look at our portfolio.

Criteria for Joining

step-1
An Understanding of Angel Investing

Angel investing is a high-risk approach to investment. Before joining Inbound Angels, it is recommended that an investor familiarize themselves with the fundamentals of angel investing to ensure they understand their risk exposure. Most startups fail. Members should never invest more money than they are willing to lose.

step-2
Current or Former HubSpotter

Inbound Angels only accepts investors who have worked or are currently working for HubSpot.

step-3
Accredited Investor

Inbound Angels members must meet the definition of an accredited investor as described by the SEC in Rule 501 of Regulation D.

step-4
A Desire to Give Back to the Startup Ecosystem

HubSpot was once a startup, and only succeeded thanks to the capital and the advice provided by angel investors. We ask that our investors think of their investments in a similar light to maximize their chance of success.
